No offense, but with that level of skin smoothing, this image fits in at YANAP
Before the skin smoothing, you had a cool image.

Because my comment was called out in the forums, and therefore may become a target, I do want to make it clear that we talked via PM. Here is an excerpt:
I want to first off say that I am in no way trying to offend you or your daughter with my comment. My comment is only on the photo editing.
I do think there is a difference in the skin smoothing seen in magazines and your end result in your photo. It's a really delicate balance. In magazines, they edit it to smooth, but also retain realism (for the most part, it's certainly possible to find exceptions).
Your photo unfortunately didn't quite strike the balance (at least in my eyes). All definition has been removed, giving it a very flat look that no longer looks realistic.
I rarely do skin smoothing, and when I do I end up re-doing it a couple of times to get it just right. Actually, instead of smoothing the skin, I will often just got with some spot editing to remove many of the blemishes. But at the same time, I like to leave some in, to maintain the realistic face.
I do want to reiterate that you do have a cool image there. The snake is a really nice touch, and compliments your daughter really well. |
