Since Tom [user]tvsometimes[/user] was wondering about the exif data, this is a composite picture (expert editing) made of two images. Unfortunately I did not write down the name of the painter, so my collage stays in my portfolio only, too ashamed for not having all the info. The originals are not great (iso 200, f=5.6, 1:60) and my hand tries to be steady since I almost never us a tripod.
After more detective work, I found that the painter whose canvas prompted my musing is Hope Gangloff
You are outdoing yourself lately. What a catch. I have to say I miss the exif at times like this. Either you have a very steady hand or the light was better than it looks.
