As a child I grew up building model aircraft, mostly warplanes and on the box were paintings of the models in dog fights, attacking high with the sun behind them. Many of the images were really top notch and could have passed for a photo. That inspired this image and the sun flare, that had to be painted in as it is too perfect to be a photo.
Many artists paint WWI and WWII war-planes in action.
A friend and former fire-fighter colleague turned artist from the Sandton FD in Johannesburg South Africa Paul Treleven paints aircraft both military, commercial, civilian.
A slightly different edit of this shot was chosen as Outdoor Photo's May Week 4, 2013 Weekly Choice (Sports and Action)
My first entry where I used Topaz Labs exclusively to edit. In Focus, Adjust 5 Heavy Pop Smooth, Star Effect, the New Clarity, Rotated, Resized, SFW. |

love the image - interesting point the lens flare only came about as a result of the invention of photography - so its a photograph inspired by paintings (war comics is my guess) - inspired by photography :D I like the recursive aspect of that. |

I like the photo. For a painting,I'm not sure. Seems to have the main element take up too little of the canvas. |
