Willamette River north of Oregon City, OR.
Dozens of fishing boats and fishermen out for the steelhead run.

I wasn't able to get to a better position to put more emphasis on the fishing boats. I had my iPhone and my Casio P&S, so this was shot with the Casio. Not expecting much.

I can what you tried here and it almost worked. I would have tried to get the horison down a bit to be more on the thirds line. Plus I would have tried to shoot from a slighly higher vantage point with a wider angle lens - that should give the rocks on the right more of leading line into the image. 6 for trying

In spite of a nice serene composition, lacks a bit of contrast - more a black and grey than a black and white IMHO
