Challenge: Stopped Motion II (Advanced Editing II)
Camera: Nikon D70
Location: Atlanta Georgia - Gwinnett County
Date: Sep 19, 2004
Aperture: f/9
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/320
Galleries: Sky, Travel
Date Uploaded: Sep 19, 2004

Taken at a local county fair. We had just gotten there and saw that they were running the ride without anyone on it. I thought it was perfect to grab a shot with it completly empty. In fact, I don't think I ever saw anyone on that ride the whole time i was there. I think there is some bad history on that ride.

Post Processing - Not much was done. Cloned out some distracting elements in the background. Made the sky alittle bluer, raised the contrast, and then sharpened.

Yes, this is stopped motion. very nice colors and great activity. A feast for the eyes. It is too overshapenned, but bumping up on great caomp.

Brilliant color! Great composition! Wonderful subject for this challenge! One of my favorites. Only the presence of people on the ride could improve this for me.

I would have liked this better with more of the bottom of the ride showing. Good colors and stop action.

Very nice. Like the deep blue of the sky.

This is a fun shot. Too bad you didn't get it with some kiddies onboard! Good stuff.

Where are all the people? Flew out?

I never get tired of seeing pictures of this ride :) Great colours! This would have been better if there were people on it though...

Great colors, and an over all excellent picture.

This is a stunning photograph! The composition is strong, clearly featuring frozen motion, and the light accentuates the contrast of the strong colors against the vivid background of the sky. There is some loss of detail in the shadows/washout of highlights, but certainly not enough to detract from an exceptional photograph. Congratualtions on a job well done!

Beautiful shot, grand colors. This is probably not a fast moving thing but anyway it's one of my favorites in the challange.

The colors here are excellent, and the cloudless sky really helps this composition.

Beautiful picture...I think I have seen one very much like this in a puzzle once.

this would be a bit more interesting if there were people on the ride...

I Like this shot a lot! Really interesting subject matter. While the colors are nicely saturated, I think it's a bit dark and would liked to have seen it a bit closer up with a higher focal length even to the point of cropping out the right side of the photo, as this area is the darkest and also has the distracting flag and sign.

Really nice shot and a great motion capture. I think it would be nice if there were actually people on this ride and if you got a closer shot so that we could see more detail, but it still came out really nice like this. Good job.
