This is the hottest spile on tree #6, who has been giving superproducer #2 a run for its money this season!
To give you an idea as to how much sap is in there, that is a 2-gallon (Imperial) pail and if you look closely you can see drips of sap falling from the spile into the pail. This pail is approx 1/2 full so one gallon from this pail alone.
You can stop and stand 20 ft away from a tree with spiles like this and hear a lovely, steady,*plink* *plink* *plink* coming from that one spile, though to be fair the other spiles do their share too :-)
