 another not so great image...but let me paint this picture...
diminishing light in the forest, high ISO, three+ feet of snow, very, very f@#! cold, and this bird won't sit still in the thick brush, playing peek a boo, in northern Ontario. I was just happy to get anything that wasn't a blur.

Good shot for field ID purposes. We do not have Ruffed Grouse in Colorado. We do have Dusky Grouse.
