I guess its all in the interpretation. Another word would be "raw".

I get what you're going for obviously but it doesn't really resonate with me. Maybe if there were wires exposed and more of the innards of the machine on display but as it is, it doesn't really say 'exposed' to me. I'm also not too keen on the almost half sepia, half b&w look.
