You caught a cool pose. I can only ID these guys by ear. My first experience with them was in Florida. They seem to be more common up here in PA now. |

Thanks, I didn't know that there were other types of crows. I am going ot have to keep my ears open for this one. You did a great job getting detail in the feathers and the eye. |

Nice. I saw my first fish crow yesterday. It does have a very distinctive call. That's really the only way I could have identified it as not an American crow. While the fish crow is smaller, size can be deceptive if you don't have both next to each other. |

Didn't know there were different kinds of crows - very hard to get good feather detail on these black birds. |

Fish crows are residents of the Atlantic coast states. First time I've seen this bird. I think your ID is correct. The field guide book says the Fish Crow has a distinctive call when compared to the Am. Crow.
