Elephant Nature Park

How I became an elephant's mother: by Lek

Lek is a truly inspiring person. Our group was incredibly lucky as she was with a baby elephant (just one month old) when we visited. Because she noticed we were a group of photographers, she invited us 'down to the river with her' later on in the afternoon. It was a very special time to see the way she interacted with her family of elephants and how they trusted each other. It is something I will never forget and maybe one day when the kids have moved out (or at least they're old enough to look after my place for a while) I might go back and volunteer at the park.
