 Tried to capture the emotional side of "falling apart" and express that through the dark feeling of the lighting, the drinking your problems away subject, and then add the puzzle pieces as a more symbolic visual representation of the subject.

This is my first entry with a large amount of Photoshop manipulation.

this portrait has so much of a Spanish Baroque feeling that only the presence of the bottle would have given the feeling of dejection.
In my opinion, it would have been more powerful without the puzzle
