I actually was not going to do something that took advantage of Expert. Set out Saturday and went downtown to the shoemaker's. Thought he might have some old shoes or boots that were beyond repair, but he said he doesn't accept things he can't repair. He suggested I go around the corner and check out what used to be the county courthouse, built in 1875. In 1923 a new courthouse was built and the old one was bought by someone who took the 2nd story off and used the bricks to add on to the lower level, creating the space that is now Ron's Automotive. Anyway, it's not falling apart, but it is pretty cool and rustic looking on the outside. So I took a few shots - a rusty hinge, peeling paint, stucco falling off bricks, etc. - and went inside to meet Ron. We chatted. Nice guy. Got an old BelAir there that they plan to restore – took a shot or two. Nothing really grabbed me. Went outside and got this idea. At our camera club recently, someone showed pictures of some photography projects displayed at a local university. Students took lots of photos of one subject, developed and printed them, and then made a collage, reassembling the subject but kind of cock-eyed. I thought they looked cool. Decided to try to do the same thing digitally so I walked around the outside taking shots and in most cases two or three angles of everything. Went home and got to work. Had to go out two days later for sky shots and the next day for the cracked concrete texture – good thing we were snowed in a day LOL Then I decided Ron would like a copy but it was a shame I hadn’t used the images from the front of the building; so I added on and made a long 1:3 pano that stretched around to the front to print up for him.

Disappointed in the finish - 38%ile - but I still like it a lot and I'm very grateful that a few others did, too.
