|I guess the "everyday" is different for everyone. In the spirit of disclosure, I do NOT burn incense very often, or even EVER. But I had this little box of it, most likely a gift from someone. I used it for the smoke challenge, and now, on its heels, this seemed an interesting and photogenic everything "thing". The little dish came in the box.
I knew I wanted to shoot this on the windowsill, because isn't that where everyday things are placed? But it looked rather forlorn all by itself. Then I remembered I had this tassel lying around somewhere, so I had to go scavenge for it. I really love the color combination (I tried playing with shifting the colors around, but the aqua, gold, and violet looked so pretty I left that alone). The soft, undulating forms of the tassel juxtapose nicely with the hard surfaces of the sill, and the dish and incense. I also like how the smoke and the tassel rather mirror each other.

I wanted this to look soft and dreamy. We'll see if I succeeded.
