I am completely against the "create an image to be conventional and within the normal accepted practices of composition and processing in order to score well" paradigm.

For one, I can't make winning shots, as the quality of my image in both composition and processing is lacking., and even if I could, I would like to think I would keep the same noble theory.

But anyway, this is my basement, white washed masonry walls, with my Grandmother's post depression era washboard. I used lighting from a few sources and screened it for softer shadows. Its a sentimental off kilter shot, but I liked the washed out look of the wood, and most importantly , I like the title.

Strange choice for composition, I'm curious as to why this struck you?

This is neat, I absolutely love it, and would have given you a 9 if you hadn't wonked the perspective, which causes the door to 'lean' left here.

7, and I wish I could have gone higher.
