This was shot for a wonderful singer who's launching into a solo career after being part of another band for some years.
Here I used an Elinchrom Ranger with 1m Octobox to light her from the Top/Side and used a red gelled 580exii from behind firing directly towards the camera to give a stage/live feel.
In the end we found 5-6 shots we were really with, this is one of them.

Heartfelt. Lovely light and focus. Hard to get an attractive capture of someone singing but the intensity of the emotion carries this. 8 Voted earlier.
I really like the image you two made. From the quality and angle of lighting you chose. Too the effort of the young singer. Great job. Being picky, I wonder if the visible flash, would have been better, hidden behind the mic. I just find it slightly distracting. Although, I do like the flare it creates. mmmm....
