Once you have gotten the foot itself to slide off, I recommend disconnecting this bundle. Gently wiggle it side to side to get it to slide out. Needle nose pliers work great for this if you've never dealt with these in other electronics before. When you reassemble, there's only one way it will plug in, so you needn't worry about messing up the connection.
You don't technically need to disconnect this to get the job done, but I found the inner screws to be pretty tight and this makes maneuvering much easier.
