The Alluvial Fan of Roaring River. This geological formation was formed when the Lawn Lake Dam failed on July 15, 1982.

History of the Lawn Lake flood written for the 30 year anniversary of the event.

I get the impression from the low votes that some voters did not know about alluvial fans. There may have been some narrow-mindedness involved.

One comments says, "flat contrast". The histogram says otherwise, as nearly all 255 tones are represented. To increase contrast, one would have to push more pixels into blown out highlights and blocked up shadows.
