 the original entry was just going to be the sapphire and i was going to try to lowball my score in a side challenge with Venser, i still expect to do relatively bad with this and therefore i'm leaving it , but i expect he'll finish a full 1.5 - 2 points under me at this rate.

figure that this will get low voted due to the fact these are not really "simple" pleasures -- to get quality stones in a good size costs a lot of money, thus not simple.
Having oversize props that cost somewhere in the 1/1000th of the cost of the real thing is simple, so it's still true to challenge in my opinion.

regarding negative space on top of the sapphire, i had a hard time with lighting this where it was either overexposed while showing the facets and looked bad, properly exposed and flat looking, or underexposed and showing the facets.
i opted to go for the underexposed top with the diamond ring added in for some balance.

yeah, i couldn't get the lighting right on this with my setup. i'm impressed it finished above my projected score for it though. :)

haha vensers bulge beat this, he had 12 1's as well what are the voters doing, although his has better lighting and more depth of texture and clarity
