I am a newbie and this entry is my first challenge submission. It's the wrong challenge for me, it's way out of my league.
This is an Advanced Editing Challenge, but rather than sit on the sidelines, I decided to enter even though I am no where near the advanced editing stage.
Someone in the challenge, has to come last.
I borrowed my nephews Canon EOS D60 with a 24-105 and wandered down to the foreshore not far from home. It was late in the day, about an hour and a half before sunset.
My favorite time of the day is "The Magic Hour" the last hour before sunset where the color temperature changes rapidly, and the golden effect comes in to play.
I set the camera on automatic, given my lack of experience but was conscious of the ISO after h2 had given me some tips on noise.
I was attracted to the hairdo of a young boy who had just received a hamburger from his mom. He was not totally comfortable in his high-tops so he started discarding them.
That's when I started snapping with 3 words beginning with the letter 'H' in frame.
When I returned home, I cropped and slightly sharpened the image using IrfanView with a very basic Paint editing program.
Ages ago I learnt to never chop people off at the limbs, but on this occasion I felt that the image composed better without his left leg in frame. Furthermore, it meant that there was an item commencing with the letter 'H' in each third of the image.
If you look closely, I think that the burger is a chicken burger not a hamburger.
Lower ranked pics in challenges receive no comments or very few. If, however, you care to comment on the shot itself, please be ruthless in your criticism.
I am still in the infancy stages of CS2 Photoshop, and any little tip would be most helpful.
