my challenge for 2013 is to create double exposed images using the in camera multiple exposure features on whichever camera I happen to have around. Sometimes those may even be analogue.

This is a technique that I need to really practice! I found some great examples when looking on the web.

This was 3 exposures of the Helsinki Harbour taken last week. It was very cold when I took this around -15 C.

A very interesting image, one to look at closely.

This works really well - the processing with the multiple exposures has created a memory, but one that is either fading or still coalescing.

How very interesting and you’ve achieved a wonderful result. I will need to try this myself sometime. I’m looking forward to your other entries.

I like the near/far composition of this...the triple exposure blends in nicely.

Multiple exposure works nicely for this image, even with the creating of a giant ship in the background. I like the foreground with the ice very much, I keep exploring it to see whether I can walk on it or not.

For me this works nicely on the abstract part of your photo (the ice). However, where I can recognize the subject (a boat!) I am now puzzling and trying to figure which belongs to which exposure, which distracts from your picture as it is.

I like it, especially the pattern and texture of the foreground.

Love the patchwork patterns of ice in the foreground. Nice depth to the city line, too, created by the multiple exposures.

Very beautiful. My multiple personalities are in agreement. It all fits so well.

Kudos. You have done this very well indeed in trying conditions. I particularly enjoy the cracked ice leading to the harbour, great textures and patterns. I'm southern hemisphere and hate any cold. Without the explanation I'd be hard pressed to see a double exposure.

I love the layers of ice and the buildings look a bit ghostly. It's a neat affect and works well here. The dark border offsets the white subject nicely.

Oh Helsinki ... one of my favorite cities :-). I was there a couple of years ago at the beginning of February, expecting to see something like you show in this image, and we had almost no snow at all :-(. So dissapointing for a tourist like me :-). Hence this image is very nice to see, now I know what I missed :-). Really like it, but then I like abstract type of images. I love that "double" sky-line of the city. The whole thing has a VERY cold feel to it.

Oh, I can see some good possibilities with your theme! This is a very good start. I love the overlapping ice layers creating that interesting pattern.

It definitely looks cold, very cold. The feeling of "shaky" created by the multiple superimposed exposures intensifies the feeling of cold I think. I like how the ice at bottom edge does not look multi, it leads the eye into the picture quite beautifully.

Very interesting theme choice. Sounds like it would be fun to try. It looks very cold. This has an old world feel to it that I find very interesting.
