Thanks everyone for your comments and votes.

Was secretly hoping to get into the top 25 with this, but top 80 it has to be.

This is a new comment series for me, so please bear with me while I find my style!

This is one of my 9s - I like it a lot. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:

1. I know this place well and have sledged there myself - in the summer I would read books sat on the benches overlooking the lake. My parent's still live about 1 mile away from where you have taken this.

2. It's rather reminiscent of a Lowry painting with all of the figures going about their business. I enjoy how the details of their posture can be discerned.

3. I really like how you've manipulated the contrast - many (including me) would have been tempted to keep the sky as white as the snow but your choice emphasises the figures much more fully.

Overall, you get a real sense of the day.

Gosh that looks like it was taken in 1911. Where's Wally? In front in white overcoat taking a pic with a Twin Reflex :)

My favorite landscape/candid of the group. Great sense of scale and so much interest. It's one of those pieces that speaks to humanity and I am tickled by it.

Wonderfully captured randomness. I always enjoy this kind of shot.

Ants, really great feel to this, a happy time but with the ominous presence of fear in the background.
