Avery Point Lighthouse
Sunset

The blues of the original posted picture were too much on my work monitor...Thanks Kroburg!
Maybe time to calibrate my home monitor?

Here is a first edit I did...but be careful to squint before viewing....

On my calendar theme. I have produced calendars the last 3 years, made of images that I have taken during the course of the year. This year I am trying to take images specifically for calendars. On the commercial side, I have sold exactly one calendar in my three years of producing them....if you don't count those that I give to family at Christmas.

The light from the sunset is golden and delicious!

This looks like November to me! The lighting is fabulous.

Lovely picture (and much improved by toning down the blues). I think it would look very nice as a calendar image. Do you intend one pic per page or some variety of collage?

Great lighting; gives the lighthouse and rocks a glow. I agree the water was too blue in your first edit.

The Golden Hour was a great choice for this location. It takes an pretty location and makes it beautiful.

Groton, CT. Whoa, that name brings back memories.
Okay, on this one, I totally agree with Ann.
The sky and rocks appear to me to be just a tad out of sinc,
with the rocks intense and the sky palid.
Composition, of course, is perfect.

Complementary colors, golden hour light, golden ratio, it's all there. Definitely calendar worthy. The one thing I would think about, after you calibrate your monitor....can you cook the blue sky a little more without overcooking the rest of the image? Or vice versa, take the rest of the image down a notch without touching the sky. I think right now, the sky works on its own, and the ground works on its own, but the ground is slightly oversaturated relative to the sky.

Would it be possible for me to be *any* pickier about an excellent image? I don't think so....

The difference is subtle but nice, Peter. The light on that rocky shore is quite splendid and this is very well composed.
Your theme is calendar shots. Maybe you already said (I could go back and look but I'm lazy). Do you produce calendars commercially?

Beautiful light and textures in the foreground.

Love the composition and the setting sun has created a warmth in the rocks that radiates - the rocks take my eye to the lighthouse. The edge of of the sky has the same rusty red color which draws all the elements together. You must make beautiful calendars.

Good composition (I like how the lighthouse intercepts the diagonal), beautiful light well captured. Remarkable contrast between the warm glowing sunset and the background which to me looks freezing cold.

Works well, great light and compo. Not overdone. Print it :)

Yes this one is photo calendar worthy. Like this one over the other one. Well done.

Very Calendar worthy. The warm tones are very attractive. I might clone out the power line poles in the distance.

I love the warm light on the rocks. Yes, the blues look better here doing an a/b comparison.

Again a beautiful image with good composition and lovely colours, although the blue of the water seems a bit unrealistic (maybe due to my screen?). Not sure I like the red bushes/tree on the left, makes that part of the image a bit messy.

Whilst I have gone off sunset /sunrise photos due to the surfeit of them in challenges, this one I do like and would buy a calendar with it in
