Palm tree

Used flash from the side.

I think this is a Queen Palm. As for the white spots they could be some form of lichen. Oh I rotated this 90degrees clockwise for those of you who have seen these type of palm.

Heh - I was thinking it looked like that fiber cereal. Great capture of the textures!

Interesting textures. Would probably work well as part of something else.

Interesting repetition of shapes/forms here. the white 'dots' add to the interest as they lead the viewer down the image.

I keep looking to indentify patterns and imperfections.

Nice. The white adds some interest to the flowing lines.

Great textures. I wondered about the white, too. Maybe if you rotated 90 degrees clockwise you'd have what looked like a tulip bed :) Well seen, Becky.

I was not guessing this to be a palm tree either. I did suspect some sort of wood. The natural grain flow is mesmerizing.

I like how the lines meander but are regular, like waves

I'll learn to look closer at them next time! Thanks for sharing. Are the white splotches lichen or moss? Or bird poop? :)

Good texture might try a b&w square crop for a different take.

Very effective as texture. Can I suggest a reduction in brightness. Textures usually work best with deep blacks and just bright enough highlights.

Palm tree? What kind of palm? Do you know?

Oh. You're in Florida. Our palm trees are different out here...

Anyway, this is nice. Lots of shape and texture, without being overly sharp or having other artifacts.

Amazing patterns. I'll have to have a closer look at my palm trees when I get home.
