 There a photogenic place called Brickworks. I went there to specifically shoot this shot. I was curious to see how the Brenizer effect looks up close. Combined 52 photos to create that image. Anyways, where I was standing was on the walkway you see in the left foot challenge. These kids behind me threw a decently large rock onto the ice and nothing happened.

I remembered about the left foot challenge and thought it could be somewhat humourous pretending to fall over the edge given the lack of the handrail. Deciding the amount of walkway to water to size of my foot ratio was the hardest part. The D700 has an intervalometer, so I set it up on a tripod and fired off 20 shots spaced 3 seconds apart. The first round of shots I had my aperture set to f/2.8 by mistake, which was too shallow. So I set it up again at f/11.0 and went back onto the ice.

My mistake was thinking the ice was thicker than it was because coming up this time I got a little nonchalant. Instead of continuously holding onto the metal bar underneath to support my weight, I let go thinking the ice could. I thought wrong. There was still three or four shots firing from the intervalometer, so I have those while I'm getting out of the water.

Not only that, my legs got lacerated pretty good from the ice on the way down.

funny and well executed. I don't understand such a low finish. Either way congrats on the image, should have been higher up
