 Pohutakawa is known in New Zeland as the Christmas tree, because that is when it starts to flower.

This small branch is held in place with a dozen clothes pegs on the kitchen table with my red top as the background with a single eco bulb in a desk lamp and rescued building site off-cut silver insulation paper as reflector material.

I can kind of bend and end up seeing the yellow as your subject. But with such a bright/colorful background, it doesn't really come off as a burst of color to me.
