I went to the arbotetum in Ottawa this morning for about 2 hours. When I got there I stood quietly by some pines and put out my hand with my glove on. I didn't think they would come but they did. I had my 80-400mm lens on so there was no chance of a picture. I came across a bird feeder further on so I collected some sunflower seeds changed my lens to my 18-200mm. I prefocused on my hand and waited. Not for long, the chickadees came right over and I was watching them when this red breasted nuthatch flew in from behind and scared me!!! I jumped, the seeds fell and I broke out laughing!! I picked up the seeds and tried again. The nuthatch came back as did the chickadees and I managed to stay still!!!
