Upper Beaver Meadows. This is an HDR blend of three images. HDR Efex Pro2
This was a candidate for my Dec 2012 FS entry, but it has subsequently been bumped out by something else.

December 9 was the first day the park was reopened after the big fire expansion on December 1. Down there in the valley there is smoke visible from the smoldering forest fire.

Best viewed at full size.

Normally, in December, we should have many feet of snow. The drought continues, as evidenced by the sparce snow cover.

This is absolutely gorgeous. Some of the best use of foreground light I've seen in your images. I love winter light :-)

This is the RNMP that I love so much - and your images are so much better than I can ever imagine getting. It is amazing why there is not more snow....hopefully it will come your way soon.

You've got this whole landscape thing down. And I really like the way you use HDR - very effective without being gimmicky.

Just beautiful - I appreciate the full-size, too (must figure out how to do that in case I ever have one that is worthy). I particularly like the interest of the rocks in the foreground and the amazing depth.

Beautiful scenery. The snow that is there indicates to me that it is as cold as it should be, but lacking the moisture to create more snow. I hope you get some soon and that come spring there will be water to run and the drought will come to an end. We had a drought that lasted for 13 years - our 3 local lakes all dried up and people said they would never fill again. But they did!

Thanks for the full-sized version. It shows off the quality so much better. Great landscape and great HDR.
