 I try to get a good, interesting shot of this little whateveritis every year. I never do. This lives in a shady border on the edge of the wildwood, & never seems to get any interesting light. I think I'll try bringing a flashlight next time & create my own interesting light.

On this day, I went to the botanical garden with my camera like always, but was dismayed to realized I'd left the memory card in the card reader at home. Grr! So I had to use the Lumix, which lives in the bottom of my purse. Now there's a spare battery and a spare card in my camera bag!

looked it up: Commonly known as Toad Lily, Tricyrtis hirta has small, orchid-like white to pale lilac flowers with heavy purple spotting.

What a very pretty and interesting flower - some kind of lily, I imagine. I've never seen one that was spotted all over like this.
