You produced an impressive shot. I know the place very well on cold, hot , humid or rainy weather and photographed it also and therefore take the hat off to you! |

VERY impressive! Just goes to show how very much it is the photographer and not the equipment. A wonderful keeper from the trip. |

Excellent job on the crowd direction! Much more memorable shot than your typical tourist picture. |

Outstanding image, looks like you had control over everything - light, shutter, crowd - even with the P&S. I also love the PP choices here, especially the texture in the background. |

I love how you used the shutter speed to create some movement which isolates your son very well. Also increasing the brightness in the areas you did puts the focal point on him and the statue! |

Exceptionally appealing image. Well done with the freeze and the milling crowd. |

Amazing the stairs just happened to somewhat clear out around your son for this to happen. The effect wouldn't be the same without it. |

Which one's your son?
Just kidding. Cool that he wanted this and it's very effective. I love the tourist tumult around him and the way you have processed this so he's both a part of and separate from the scene. She's magnificently displayed, isn't she?
eta I am working on a laptop this morning which makes it awkward to see other comments before I post - but I do scroll down and read them after. Fun to see that we were all struck by the same thing - you definitely succeeded.

What Sarah, salmiakki said - that's exactly how I react to this wonderful shot. |

Very cool. Love the processing.
My father managed to take a photo of this with only one or two people in it, or even without people. |

Ooh, this is super. I love the movement of all the other tourists vs the stillness of your son. Great stuff |
