 An action shot taken on the spur with an unfamiliar camera (where was my standby!?) I really needed a 100 foot strobe to fill in the smoke but, all in all, a good journalistic shot.

I decided to crop it the way I did, because I loved the feeling of the firefighter dwarfed and pressed into the corner by the enormity of the flames!

My problem with images like this in a challenge on "smoke" is that the image is all about fire. Not smoke - even though some is obviously there. But, that's just me. Good luck with the challenge.

Awesome. Wouldn't want to be the guy in the fire suit. What is burning? Has a Janapnese quality.

Although "fire" comes to mind first, there certainly is smoke there. Nice shot. I hope you were not in any danger!
