It's like the carpet border is the boundary line...I think that's why the photographer appears to be stuck between the two worlds. He is neither here nor there and in both places at once.
I rather like the tension created by two areas here. Obviously the weeding party, but then also the couple on the right maybe watching someone break into the grooms car too... ;)
Awesome setting, great use of movement, and yes, what Mary said about the bride being set and in place. I like how you make us wonder why this other couple is set apart from the wedding party. There for a different event, perhaps?
It's often interesting to see what is going on outside of the formal posing. The bride looks pretty well frozen in place; she's ready, even if no one else is.
Superb monochrome conversion. I especially like the squaring of all the vertical lines. Well done. I really like the contrast betweem the moving group and the people sitting still. Makes for an interesting scene. The couple in focus in the foreground right really draws my eye, as the background people in various states of motion blur naturally throw the attention to the subject. Well done!
Man at the window: "They think we smell."
Lady at the window: "No, honey, just your breath which is why I'm over here and you're over there. Now I won't be in any of the pictures unless I dump you."
