I think that the splendid quality of this shot lays in the fact that the birch tree trunks have details, as opposed to a slew of similar impressionistic shots of elongated and blurry trees.
This forest is teaming with fire flies and no overlay is gratuitous. The enchanted forest.

How can anyone not love trees ?
The stark simplicity of the Birches and the dark backdrop give it a feeling of depth.

Oh Sarah!!!! I am mad for this. I love the linear quality. I see images such as this and just swoon. I am particularly fond of it in BW with that scratchy layer, to appear as though there is a scrubby brush beneath the trees. I swear, this would be so awesome really huge with a gigantically wide mat and thin metal black frame. LURVE~ |
