I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Fabulous contrasts throughout the image and this is of course reflected in your motif. It feels very frozen, like the world has stopped - you don't always get that in photos (though I know you should) - this gives it an almost statuesque feel; like we could walk amongst the static subjects. The dog is the star but I also like the prominence of the sign. It almost competes for the title of the image.
Critical stuff: I think I might have been tempting to crop right up the middle of the tree.
Overall: An effective capture of a moment shared.

| Very normal street scene, good placement of the man with his dog, there's some softness on my monitor which distracts me. I'm curious what the dog is looking at but overall I'm looking for more in the image |
