Shoot this in an alley around the corner from my house. It was a cloudy rainy day in holland. This provide a nice reflective concrete below my feet. I shoot at lowest ISO possible and highest sync speed to dim some ambient light. On the front wall, the hedge was catching some light from the rays of sun piercing through the clouds and I was backlight from my 580EXii. I positioned my flash on the floor and had it set to full power at 105mm to get a strong narrow beam of light. I used my 5dmkii and 100mm 2.8L setup on a tripod and pre-focused half way down those ladders.
In lightroom the white balance was changed to cloudy to bring out the fall colors and boosted the clarity, highlights and whites to give more edge, while bringing down a notch the shadows and blacks
The last element was my wonderful girlfriend who stood outside in miserable weather on Sunday for 30 mins and pushed that shutter for me.

Interesting the setting is nice, the person is not quite enough of a focus for me in a challenge about portraits but I like the light and the rays created, what looks like ladders on the lower left are distracting.
