 *In response to people asking why I put this in the trees competition, they are what makes this scene so beautiful. The competition guidelines said to include at least 2 trees in your composition, which I did. Clearly the falls are the focal point, but the bright colors of the leaves frame it so beautifully that they are what really make this a good image in my opinion. Just try to imagine this shot without the trees and it loses all interest. I thought it fit this challenge nicely.

I got up at 5:30am and drove up to north Georgia to the Amicalola State Park in Dawsonville, Georgia to test out my new Hoya ND filter I got yesterday. I shot this with my Nikon D800 and Nikkor 50mm 1.4G lens. One thing I have found about this 50mm lens is that I tend not to crop my images with it. I often feel like I would like it to be a little bit wider when I am shooting, but when I get to post processing I never feel the need to crop, so maybe I just need to trust it and move on!
