Another of the little neighborhoods of my city. San Francisco is small in area, crowded in neighborhoods. This one is about 4 blocks long, beginning here where our Light Rail system goes underground. (There is no "East Portal".) This tunnel takes a rider under Twin Peaks and under Market Street down to the Embarcadero. West Portal is pretty much the geographic center of town.

Urban sprawl. As a wildlife tog I find cities appallingly ugly, but not uninteresting. The communities that lead lives there are no less intricately woven than that of those in the wild. Great shot of the complexities of mankind.
