First off the subject has some strong bones to build on. The vertical composition allows for too much negative space that does not have much interesting elements in the sky to complement the shot. The lens flare acts as more of a distraction rather than complementing the scene as a whole. I would suggest that you take it at a horizontal crop because you can bring your viewer closer to the details of the main subjects of the barn & tree and that that the orientation of the horizontal is a subtle nod to the horizontal lines of the barn. I also suggest that you zoom in to show off more of the details of the barn and the lovely light that is shining through the tree leaves. Bring us in closer by composing it so that you just have a little of the sky above the tree and a little more ground plane just under the shadow of the tree so we can see all the lovely details and textures. Hope this helps. |
