I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: Beautifully understated portrait - subtle on many levels, great toning too. The shallow depth of field works really well here and drawn out freckles are the icing on the cake.

Critical stuff: Although I like your use of negative space, with a 800px maximum dimension, you might of bought a bit more real estate back by curbing it a little.

Overall: Nicely crafted portrait benefitting from good photographic choices.
