 Shot 2010, This is Josie
United Kingdom Kennel Club Registered English Shepherd. Very similar if structure and attitude to a Border Collie. In fact the breed had been previously called English Farm Collies.

The Reason they are not AKC recognized is because ES breed organizations refuse to inbreed to standardize the "look" which could jeopardize their natural herding instinct. They are widely used in Europe and the US as herding dogs for sheep, goats, and cattle.

Her actual name is: Seventies Band Girl Josie. One is required to come up with a unique Kennel name for registration. She immediately struck me as a very intensely playful pup so she got a play full name. She's turned out to be quite a wonderful dog and one heck of a Frisbee player!
