This was taken on the final day of a great backpacking trip I took. The first part of the day we had great weather, all sun, and had just been watching the storms get split by the peak to the left.
We actually started on the other side of the pass shown here, so we're looking back where I had already come from. As we descended the pass, we got some weather moving in, which quickly turned from rain to heavy rain to thunderstorm to hail. We hunkered down in some trees, let the hail stop, fished for awhile, made some coffee on our stove, then left. This was the 'eye' of the storm, it quickly began raining again, and continued for the next 8 miles, but it was a nice, cool hike out. Saw a moose and her calf, as well. A great trip, thanks for all the comments. |
