| For me, at least, an essence is more the bit below the surface, not a pile of stuff. I would have scored it much higher if there was more than just an accumulation of things, perhaps if they were in a more telling spot, for instance. Having said that, it seems to be a shortcoming for the overwhelming majority of entries, so I might be a bit harsh with this expectation. |

| I like where you're going with this shot... but it's lacking focus. What might have gone better was a more macro shot, showing only essences of your different pieces. Get only the classic jeep grille, maybe the front of the metal detector propped up against the grile. The camera can be sitting on the bumper, the ski creating an interesting X element on the other side of the grille. Maybe the backpack sitting on top of the hood with a few straps hanging down into the frame. I liked that you tried to get all of your hobbies together in one shot, but the problem is the overemphasis of the jeep. It looks like a picture of the jeep (from a bad angle), with a few random things leaning on it. Cheers mate. |
