OK, I'll get hammered again because I used my cat (see my photojournalism entry, lol). I just came back from holidays and I have been setting up my new computer. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I'm not even sure if this fits the portraiture category. Ah well, I like it, my wife likes it, and my cat likes it. I just hope to crack the 5.0 barrier. Good luck to other cat people :)

Nice shot. Great clarity - you can almost pick out individual hairs, even at such a low reolution. The pixelated effect on the whiskers lets it down slightly though. I like the composition, and the woolly stuff in the foreground works really well.

Lili is a beautiful cat. The clarity is great on the cat, however the fluff at the front is a little distracting. But overall a great portrait photo of your cat. 7

She's very cute! I love her little mouth and cheeks. She looks as if she's caught something!

really good, I like the stuff in the forground being out of focus.

Is that Santa's beard that she has just torn up down in front of her? Between that and the background I have a hard time concentrating on the very excellent image of Lili.

Very nice angle, lighting clarity. The only thing I might change is the textured wall in the background!

It'd be better off without the fluffy stuff at the bottom of the frame, otherwise I like the framing and the shot in general. 6

a quality photo, pets are hard to take portraits of because they're always moving around, good detail on the cat's face

Good capture - especially if this is a kitten! Really like the composition and the lighting. I like the yarn in the foreground - for me it adds interest to the shot without detracting from the subject.

This cat is adorable. Nice wide eyes. Two things I would change. Item in the foreground is distracting. I would crop part of it out. It is blown out(light was too strong on it). Also I would leave a little wider crop on the pic and use a shorter DOF. These are just suggestions, just my little opinion.

How in the world did you ever get the cat to pose like that? As soon as I grab my camera mine gets up and moves. This is perfect. The focus is perfect. Wonderful macro. Don't guess you could get rid of his toy from the front could you? That's my only problem, and it's not that much. I'd still give it a 9. PTL
