About the photo: I had no one to pose for me, so I took matters into my own hands. I tried a bunch of different shots, but nothing really stuck me. I started to throw the hat off in frustration while snapping a shot, and found that I liked the shape of that image. So, 50 or 60 more takes, and here it is. I've got about 6 versions of this photo that I wanted to submit. Dang!!
About the title: My grandma has, for some reason, always referred to bucket hats as "Go To Hell" hats ("If they don't like it, they can go to hell!!"). So, anyway, I thought it fit.
Dear critiquer: I would appreciate comments about the cropping especially. I was trying to do something different. |

"When you're a Jet, you're a Jet all the way..."
This is a great self-portrait! I was rambling through some older challenges and remember stumbling upon this photo eons ago. What I enjoy about the crop is that the profile of the face is *almost* centered, but the viewer's eye travels around the 'P' shape made by the arm, getting the overall feel of the comp. Just had to make a drive-by comment =D |

Okay, who besides me, has looked at this photo and thought... Rob Thomas! Are you sure your last name is Elliott?! ;-)
And just to be sure of what I was seeing, had my sister, my mom and 2 of my nephews check it out. We all agree....
BradP isn't the only famous face here apparently! :D

| I'm not sure what the part about the hat means, but I like the shot. I like the lighting, and the composition is effective, though there is almost TOO much negative space for me. |
