Challenge: Wide Angle II (Minimal Editing I)
Camera: Leica M9
Lens: Leica 21mm f/1.4 Summilux-M
Date: Jun 7, 2012
Aperture: f/16
ISO: 160
Shutter: 1/6
Date Uploaded: Jun 7, 2012

Did not have much time for this challenge. It's always fun getting it right in camera though. Love the fact that editing takes about 5 minutes, or less for minimal rules challenges.

I wanted to use some natural elements to create my composition, so this old stone building and the tree did very nicely.

I set my 21mm Summilux to f/16 at hyper focal distance and was happy everything came out in focus.

dark but better like that - helps the contrast... excellent use of framing etc
would have done better in a different challenge i think.

Love it. Wonderful composition - shows what you can do with a camera and a great eye.

This seems very dull and under exposed on my screen.

Your concept/idea is good. I might have composed the scene differently with the distant tree less centered. There is detail in the dark shadows. Overall, the dynamic range between shadows and sky is very wide, leaving the image too dark below and too bright above. Your DOF is deep.
