 If this was the right week i might have put this in for the Adams challenge. I like the mid-day sun and shadows.

Simple effective composition and, I agree with the other comments, the harsh light works nicely.

wonderful tree, albeit looking quite dead since there are no leaves. THis is one of those situations where the mid-day sun actually works in the photographer's favour.

The shadows on the tree are amazing. I think the size limitations on here hurt this image. Might be interesting to crop in closer so more details show.
