I followed him around for a good 10 minutes trying all different shots. I believe this is a Gulf Fritillary butterfly. Adjusted levels in PS7, removed noise in NeatImage.

Thanks for all the comments. When I get some free time I will make a tighter crop and post it on the board.

Initial thoughts
Lovely quality of light.

Composition/ Content
I like the content of this image a butterfly resting during its journey.
The colour of the live green and dead brown grasses contrast nicely with the vivid orange, black and white of the butterfly.
In terms of composition I would be tempted to crop in more closely Id keep the two blades to the left of the butterfly that go from top to bottom of the frame at different angles Id crop the left to exactly the point at which the green blade hits the top of the image. From the right Id crop in until I had an almost square image. This is, of course, only my highly subjective opinion! :)

Background
Nicely thrown out of focus nothing to compete with main subjects.

Camera Work - Technical
Nice lighting and exposure.

Post Processing - Technical
I like the border youve selected. Processing of image seems fine.

Fits The Challenge
Yes, though not as obviously as it could do. If the image was viewed alone (even including title) I dont know that it would suggest Travel to me.

Your Opinion On The Photo
I like it, I think composition could be improved to make it more striking.

Very nice macro. Good clear focus on the butterfly and grass.

A unique take on the challenge. A nice change also. And it is a beautiful butterfly. This sounds strange coming from me but more of the grass should have been out of focus, so the butterfly would have stood out more. But it is still a beautiful shot. I especially like the contrast of the green grass and dead brown grass. Great job. 8 PTL

Original subject. :)
Good field of focus on the main subject. Sharp, nice colors.
Wonder what a tighter crop will do.

nice picture, but how does it comply to the subject ?

Very nice picture, kind of seems like you stretched a bit to make it fit the challenge, but the picture itself is well done.

Wow, beautiful shot! The far wing is slight out of focus, but I've done enough butterflies to know how impossible that is! Less than common wing angle, even though it's harder to see the patterns, I like it. Very good, natural color.
10 all the way! Swash

The detail is amazing - I can see every hair on his little body. I like the contrast between the brown grass that is in focus, and the green grass in the background. Nice job!
