The hand written sign in the middle window says, "May Open Late... due to extra cold temps of 40 degrees fahrenheit"!!

I have abandoned my initial "straight from the camera" commitment since I once again have my photo editing computer up and running after the move.

That being so, I shot this in color and converted to b/w in post processing to continue with black and white in this side challenge. Even so, you might find the color version quite interesting too:

It's interesting how much more prominent the woman is in the color shot than in the BW image. She sorta disappears into everything in the BW version.

i like the b&w over the color.
the shot makes me think of everyday life in "anywhere" america.

What kills me is that anything under 40 degrees fahrenheit is considered "extra cold".

Here, thought you would also get a kick out of this sign. It is posted right on the front wall of the trailer, just farther to the left of the scene above.

I look at this and think holy retarded.

Push the bell, but stay in your car. The circular thing on the left of that sign looks like the bell, so I'm trying to figure out how to drive the car up to the sign, without hitting the stairs. Love it.

This really speaks to me - I'l bet there was a small fridge with canned beer in the office. Great capture - though I might have stepped back two steps to get a touch more in the scene.

"Character" surely does describe a lot of what I see in Louisiana, Mark. I lived here from 1984-91, and it's my wife's home, so we have returned to this part of the country to help her mom and dad. I am looking forward to exploring more of the photo opportunities this region offers in the months and years to come.

Inspection stations in Louisiana have much more character than in Illinois. Nice shot.

Nice one! In this case I prefer the colored version. I guess it's the sunny view :)
