This is not going to score to well as I feel the expectations of most voters will be dramatic landscapes with interesting skies. I don't know a lot about Ansel but what catches my eye is that he liked to use light to enhance his subject. Lacking mountains in my neighbourhood I took advantage of the setting sun to see what was being lit up. I found what I wanted with this tree. I then spent some time in pp to try and get the deep blacks and dark sky in his style. I wanted to boost the whites more but I felt like the trunk was becoming too washed out. I'm happy with the results but I'm also not expecting much more than a mid to low 5.

A bit too much center middle for me. While I think the highlight detail was well contained, the shadow detail is lost in several shady areas. It appears to be a high contrast time of day. I do like the tone of the sky and the sky gradient.
