It is May and for a very short window of time dandelions fill this abandoned field. I just can't help it every year I try to capture a different aspect of this season with the majestic Mount Timpanogos in the background.

This mountain Range is called Mount Timpanogos apart of the Wasatch Range. I have the pleasure of seeing this beautiful mountain everyday. It has so many moods that even though I photograph it all the time I am still trying capture all of its moods.

If you look closely to the left the shape and silhouette of the Mountain looks like a woman sleeping (on her back). Her hair cascading down the hill. There is the legend that the beautiful Indian princess was so sad when the man she loved died that she died too and the mountain shifted to immortalize her sleeping shape.

This is my first submission to dpchallenge.com as I am a little shy although I do a lot of the challenges on my own. I am in awe of the great talent and I love how it pushed my skills. I decided to share this photo to get my feet wet as I figure nothing ventured nothing gained. I am proud of this picture and hope that you can enjoy the beauty I enjoy everyday!

Thanks everyone for the comments! It is SO helpful! The interesting thing about this picture is that I took 20 pictures at this location and all of your suggestions were in other pictures and I picked this one as the one I liked the best. Photography is SO subjective but I am still grateful for the feedback...it makes me want to work harder :-D

A nice scene, though it looks somewhat flat. I think it could benefit from being punched up a bit. A levels adjustment might be an easy fix.

Could be a great shot if processed right. Needs a lot of darkening and burning in the mountains.

Using a much smaller aperture and focusing closer to get the flowers in focus with lots of DOF to keep the mountain tops would have made this much nicer. It's a pretty spot though, and I like the hazy light there.

Oh, unwilling weather. This looks like such a beautiful place. I love your perspective and the layers.

great use of thirds but I cannot understand why there are so many landscape pictures in the challenge with such soft focus. Colours ar dull too

At first I wanted to say this was a DOF issue but after a second look I think the whole photo looks soft. Hard to get real detail when the sky is providing a big soft box. Nice composition and I would look at this location another day under different light if possible.

Seems to need a boost in contrast on my screen.

Beautiful location and a great choice of composition with the flowers in the foreground. I wish the flowers were also in focus, and the scene had a bit more contrast!
