I doubt this will score well, but for me it is the best image i took in the 3 1/2 week stay in Buenos Aries.
This is a picture of a placard held by one of the mothers of the Plaza del Mayo. Every Thursday at 3:30pm a group of mothers walk around the Plaza del Mayo protesting the disappearance of 10,000+ Argentinians during the dirty war. The mothers have done this every Thursday for 35 years.
Very moving to see this happen.

A wonderful country ruined by successive greedy governments.

Greetings from the Critique Club!

This is a good photo and the girl's face on the placard does seem to be pleading for someone to find her. The colours in the bg are great and help the b/w image pop and draw attention to her. I feel that a much larger shot of the entire scene, of at least the mother carrying this placard so we could see her face too and get some sense of the connection and an echo in her face of the grief she feels. It's probably this lack of a fuller story more than anything that hurt your score.

But very well seen and captured, nonetheless! Keep up the good work and keep on entering.

Feel free to PM me

Susan

The picture told the story very well. I knew what it was about. I don't suppose there's any hope at all that they will ever find Ada or any of the others, but it is very touching that so many years have passed and these protests are still held.

Good exposure. An intriguing image, makes me want to know what's going on.
